It’s Not All Puppies and Kittens is my blog, mainly about my work as a small animal veterinarian but also about life in general.
A love for animals isn’t the only thing you need to be a vet but a desire to help them is definitely one of the reasons that we keep going. There’s lots of good time and there are lots of sad time, ultimately I feel like I’ve done a good job if I’ve made a difference – even if the outcome is not happy. If I’ve relieved an animal’s pain, stopped suffering, improved their relationship with their owner or simply doled out a couple of liver treats then it makes it worthwhile.
Hopefully there’ll be a bit of behind the scenes information, bearing in mind that some of the posts are tongue in cheek or at least trying to apply a little humour where there may be none. It’s hard to be cheery all the time, we’re only human and sometimes we need a little help to get through.
I also have other interests – books, food, crafty stuff, music and being a little nerdy on the side.
